God,Save Our Sinking Ship.

Here I am not wirting, how big the Bollywood industry is, neither questioning the value of stardom and richness an artist is carrying in this industry, nor how much a movie has grossed or got flopped. In this article all I want to share my view about, How worth is to watch a Hindi or a Bollywood movie today?

Comparing the retro era, our film industry has grown enormously in financial and technological resources. But the question is, Does these resources helping our filmmakers to make a good film or a ‘watch worthy film? And the answer is very sadly, No. That the good films in a year can be counted within our five fingers of our palm. Why this scenario existing? Why our industry is in the verge of destruction? And what can save it from sinking?

The answer to the last question is right in front of our mind. A REVELUTION.Yes we badly need a revolution to save this sinking industry

Approximately 53 films released within the period of January and June 2010, from ‘Pyar Impossible’ to ‘Housefull’, among these which all can be called ‘worth a watch’, the answer is none, literally zero. And from those, that recovered its production cost is only ONE film (My Name Is Khan). All others went straight in to the chart of flops. Today the ‘Hindi Film Industry’ became an arena for the dummies. People whom call themselves as actors and directors are mocking this industry by their worthless products, which they call as Films. How much we can bare these craps? And how long?

Today an average common Indian has became more wise, he choose the best from everything, he became more judgmental, he knew what can make him more engage, he started understanding the real meaning of entertainment and art, he cannot bare the same stupidity that his grandparent used to enjoy during their time. This is the fact that should be remembered by the every filmmakers before they write a story (If they do so). That now, our industry is not a lone player in this ground, the competition has increased more than anytime, with the flow of Hollywood and foreign films to our soil. And there is a huge leap in the followers of other language films, especially Hollywood. They literally compare the quality that they are getting from both the industries, even though our industry claims to have lesser resources than western. But the demand for quality is always genuine to be demanded, even there is a reason. The customer is always right in terms of business as well as entertainment.

If this scenario continues, that the mistakes are repeated without correction; the time is not too far, that our people can wait for a Hindi film to premier in the television, that one day our whole industry can shrink in to the industry of a small screen.

What is the reason for this? Why is this happening? May be our, so called ‘FILMMAKERS’ are busy concentrating financial profit by selling their poor quality products(films) or they just want to survive and earn fame within their short period of life. And the question is “Who among these have the real passion in the art of filmmaking?” or “Who among these have the real passion to make good films?” This should be answered by the current Bollywood technicians and the artists working in the industry.

It is good to remember that great movies are always born first on papers; this reality is the one we forgets or just deceived. The reason is neither lack of imagination nor lack of subject, but the lack of passion and enthusiasm. One should be with full of passion and enthusiasm, when it comes to writing a subject for the screen, only then a good film can be born. Why our industry lacks these two important facts? Because here we believe, in certain formulas our godfathers left, that we think the only solution, and using it for eternal success of Indian films. And when these repeated formula films comes in front of the general public, the public literally spits on these moronic works, that they started loosing trust on our film industry each Friday. So this belief of an Indian Filmmaker has to change or I can say, it’s changing. This is inevitable.

When I wrote about the revolution, in the third paragraph, I really meant it. That this industry is waiting for the new generation youth filmmakers to come forward with their new idea, creativity and technique, repair this sinking ship and sail it courageously. All we need is the passionate team to take up the wheel with their powerful creativity and strategies, use it maxim for the quality film in the future. For the new generation, and the evolution of true Indian Cinema.
